10364NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English is an intermediate course for learners who have developed a survival level of English, literacy or numeracy skills and who have had some formal or informal exposure to English. Learners entering this level of the CSWE curriculum framework are identified as intermediate; Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) is Level 2.

Each module of 10363NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English focuses on a specific area of language acquisition through the study of spoken or written text-types. A minimum of two successful performances per module are required, where all performance criteria’s are assessed via a different methodology, and provides sufficient evidence of learner competence. Evidence for successful performances can be gathered through formative or summative assessment tasks.

Depending on the purpose of the assessment, the following types of assessment and methods of gathering evidence may be used:
• collection of learner documents
• collection of work samples
• verbal and/or written questioning
• teacher observation of satisfactory performance
• observed role-plays
• presentations
• projects
• observation of simulated or real-world tasks
• checklists of learner performance
• ongoing assessment
• student self-assessment
• audio and/or visual recording
• student documents

Students, who can demonstrate they already hold any of the Modules specified above, may be eligible to receive a credit transfer for those units. They will need to submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by a RTO for recognition purposes. Students who are awarded a credit transfer will be exempted from completing those modules at TCWA

After successfully completing 10364NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English, learners may undertake:
• 10365NAT Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English – Further Studies or
• 10366NAT Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English – Employment.
TCWA policy prevents students under the age of 18 from registering in TCWA courses or programs.
