COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification applies to individuals working in the graphic pre-press sector of the printing and graphic arts industry. They design layouts and assemble text and graphics into page formats for printing, apply solutions to a defined range of problems associated with the reproduction of images for the print medium and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may also take responsibility for production flow and provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 16 years of age or over
  • Completed Year 10.(or equivalent)

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT

Students who have successfully completed either a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or Certificate IV or higher in Australia (in the English Language),  within two years of applying for a student visa are exempt of the English Requirement for International Students.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS MUST MEET

Minimum 5.5 IELTS score & above or equivalent. (Those students who do not meet the minimum English requirement for International Students will need to package this program with an English Course before proceeding to the intended qualification).

ASSESSMENTS

All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools (Portfolios, Reports, Role-plays, Practical observations, Case studies, Questioning, Simulation activities, and written tests)

  • Should a learner not be able to complete all the Units of Competency required to be awarded this qualification, they will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the individual Units for which they have been assessed where the learner has been assessed as competent
